I-44 Speedway reveals 2017 schedule
By Ronnie Williams (Lebanon, MO) -- Missouri's only NASCAR and active Asphalt short-track, The "High-Banks" of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway have announced an exciting 2017 schedule with new things for both the fan and drivers with a wide variety of events.
Weekly NASCAR Whelen-All American Series action will feature the Pro Late Models, Ground-Pounding Modifieds, Street Stocks and 4 cylinder Chargers. The Late Models and Modifieds will have a couple of nights off to help them prepare for upcoming special events while the Chargers and Street Stocks are scheduled every Saturday Night on the schedule.
New this season is the fact that the Late Models and Modifieds will time-in each race night to help determine the night's line-up. Also new will be an exciting Dash Series for all 4 classes with a season ending separate point fund for this Series adding some exciting excitement to start the evenings activities with Racing Competition to begin at 7:30 each night. Also new this season will be a limited schedule for The New 6 Shooter Pure Stock Class featuring 6 Cylinder models and Legends to run a limited schedule.
The Chase for the 2017 NASCAR Missouri and I-44 Speedway Championship begins on April 29th with The Coca-Cola Spring Sizzler, a 50 lap Pro Late Model feature paying 1200 to win and 150 to start with all 4 classes to help kick off the season.
May 6th in addition to the race program, Professional Wrestling and Racing will mix together with the RCW Speedway Slam featuring Special guest and WWE Hall Of Famer Ricky "The Dragon"Steamboat and Trevor Murdock along with others plus a full racing show.
May 13 brings The Illini Midgets series to the "High-Banks" along with action with the Modifieds, Street Stocks, Chargers and the Legends to make their first apperance.
May 20 will feature the debut of the 6 Shooter Stock Car Class along with Kids Night and Military Appreciation Night.
The Speedway will not be in action on Memorial Weekend May 27 as they prepare for the following weeks Mster Of The Pros Special event.
A New date seems to be good for all as June 3rd is the 5th Annual Master Of The Pros sanctioned by The JEGS/CRA Series featuring drivers from all over against the locals competing for the $8,000 to win and Green Jacket. John Hunter Nemecheck is the defending champion and only repeat winner. Action also features Street Stocks and Chargers.
A Special treat for the fans on June 10 features a full NASCAR show but also Buck Night at The Concessions along with Legends.
Father's Day Weekend June 17 will feature a Motorcycle Stunt Show in addition to the Racing action while June 24 The Charger Class will be high-lighted with a special feature and the 6 Shooters return.
Tradition comes on July 1st with the Full NASCAR Show and Fireworks light-up the skies following.
No Racing on July 8th due to the Laclede County Fair.
July 15th features a special event for the Hoosier Tire Street Stocks while July 22nd features Christian Night At The races with The Faster Pastor Races with Area Preachers racing that night in Charger Cars before the crowd.
July 29th features Twin Features for the High-Speed Pro Late Models with kids night slated on Heritage Bank Night at The Races.
A Special event comes to The "High-Banks" with the Bandit Big Rig Semi-Truck Series on Aug. 5th as Late Models get the night off but all other class will compete.
Aug. 12 Monster Trucks will be performing at the Speedway along with Late Models, Street Stocks, Chargers with Modifieds getting the night off.
Aug 19 is still possible open date to be announced.
The Roper Family Classic is slated for Aug. 26 with the Indiana based NSTA Modifieds Making their first apperance at I-44 competing against the tough regulars of I-44 in a 1200 to win feature while Late Models take the night off.
Sept. 2nd will host Route 66 Criuse-in Night with Classic Cars displayed and featuring a Burn-out contest along with the Full NASCAR Show.
Sept. 9 on Whelen Night features a special Grudge Match Race featuring Lebanon and Camdenton High School Coaches competing in Charger Cars.
Sept.16 will feature the Salute To 75 Larry Phillips event with a 75 lap Pro Late Model feature paying 2000 to win at 200 to start along with Season Championship Night.
Sept 23 currently has a special 6 shooter Enduro on the schedule.
